Panel Vans in Trinidad and Tobago: Requirements for Purchase

Panel vans are classified as commercial vehicles in Trinidad and Tobago. Individuals with a registered business, Farmer’s ID, or Fisherman’s ID are eligible to purchase these vehicles. Panel vans are available by order only, with an estimated delivery time of three (3) months.

The required documents vary based on the type of purchaser, as outlined below:

For Sole Traders

  1. Business Registration Certificate
  2. Personal BIR Certificate
  3. Four (4) purchase invoices/receipts
  4. Four (4) sales invoices/receipts
  5. Certified copy of the vehicle currently used in the business
  6. Two (2) forms of identification
  7. Company stamp
  8. Utility bill as proof of address

For Partnerships

  1. Business Registration Certificate
  2. Company BIR Certificate
  3. Four (4) purchase invoices/receipts
  4. Four (4) sales invoices/receipts
  5. Certified copy of the vehicle currently used in the business
  6. Two (2) forms of identification
  7. Company stamp
  8. Utility bill as proof of address

For Limited Liability Companies

  1. Certificate of Incorporation
  2. Company BIR Certificate
  3. Notice of Address
  4. Notice of Directors
  5. VAT Certificate (if applicable)
  6. Four (4) purchase invoices/receipts
  7. Four (4) sales invoices/receipts
  8. Certified copy of the vehicle currently used in the business
  9. Two (2) forms of identification
  10. Company stamp
  11. Utility bill as proof of address

For Farmers

  1. Farmer’s ID
  2. Personal BIR Certificate
  3. Copy of deed for land in their name
  4. Two (2) forms of identification
  5. Four (4) purchase invoices/receipts (e.g., for fertilizers, crops)
  6. Four (4) sales invoices/receipts
  7. Utility bill as proof of address

For Fishermen

  1. Fisherman’s ID Card
  2. Personal BIR Certificate
  3. Receipt for the boat registered in their name
  4. Four (4) purchase invoices/receipts (e.g., for fertilizers, crops)
  5. Four (4) sales invoices/receipts
  6. Utility bill as proof of address

For Churches, Temples, Mosques, and Non-Profit Institutions

  1. Institution Registration Certificate
  2. BIR Certificate and identification of the person conducting the transaction on behalf of the institution
  3. Letter of authorization from the institution
  4. Institution stamp
  5. Notice of Directors and Notice of Address (if applicable)

This classification ensures that only eligible businesses and individuals are entitled to purchase panel vans in compliance with local regulations.

The average time it takes these roll on roll off vehicles to reach is approximately six to eight weeks to arrive in Trinidad. We require only a small 20% down payment upon request and the balance payment to be made when the vehicle arrives and we license it.
